WESCOM Supports the Signing of Peace Covenant in Palawan

Camp Gen. Artemio Ricarte, Puerto Princesa City – The Western Command supported the Palawan government's initiative to ensure a secure and fair Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on September 12, 2013 through the Peace Covenant Signing, led by Governor Jose Chavez Alvarez and attended by the Provincial Commission on Elections (Comelec), Philippine National Police, Local Government Units, other NGOs, CSOs and people of Bataraza, Palawan.

Stakeholders Help Ex- Rebels Get Back to their Feet

Camp Gen. Artemio Ricarte, Puerto Princesa City – THREE former rebels were integrated Saturday into the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) under the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) of Palawan. 

Philippine Army Lt. Col. Emmanuel Canilla, civil military operations chief of the Western Command, in a conference with stakeholders, said the former rebels were the third batch of group who were integrated into the CLIP.

Canilla said the former rebels will receive cash assistance along with trainings and seminars and other assistance such as livelihood, PhilHealth and scholarships grant especially for their children.

WESCOM Chief Joins Family Rosary Crusade

Camp Gen. Artemio Ricarte, Puerto Princesa City – The Commander, Western Command,  Lt. Gen. Rustico O. Guerrero will lead the military and law enforcement agencies as he chairs the safety and security committee of the Holy Trinity University Family Rosary Crusade (HTU-FRC), which will be celebrating its silver jubilee in a nine-day prayer vigil to the Blessed Mother, Our Lady of the Rosary of La Naval.

WESCOM Urges Insurgents to End Violence

Camp Gen. Artemio Ricarte, Puerto Princesa City – The Palawan-based Armed Forces of the Philippines' Western Command appealed to insurgents particularly those in the northern part of the province to end armed hostilities to give way to development and peace, in support to the national government's call on Sunday that marked the National Peace Consciousness Month.
