Team WESCOM conducts Symposium on Anti-Insurgency Awareness to Indigenous People of Sofronio Española, Palawan

 More or less 200 Indigenous People fromPalaw-an Tribe of Sitio Maribong, SitioOlympic and Sitio El Salvador, BarangayPulot Interior in  Sofronio Española, Palawan attended the Anti-Insurgency Awareness symposium conducted by the Team WESCOM through the 6th Civil Relations Group, CRSAFP and 12th Marine Battalion Landing Team. The attendees are also members of the Pamilyang, Pilipino, Pantawid, Program (4Ps) of the government in line with its monthly program for Family Development Session. The symposium aims to insulate the individuals being recruited by the NPA especially the youth and IPs in the province of Palawan. 

TSg Anthony Corpuz Phil Army, First Sergeant of 6CRG as one of the speaker, discussed the threats of New People’s Army (NPA) in their area, also to remind the parents on their responsibility to protect their children from the armed group. Further, 1st Lt. Gregory John Rubia Phil Navy Marines of 12th Marine Battalion reminded the IPs that they are not neglected by the Government. 

One of the objective is to highlight the increasing number of rebels returned back to the mainstream society and availed the Local Social Integration Program (LSIP) of the Local Government of Palawan.(6CRG)
