Wescom all set for the Annual General Inspection

Camp General Artemio Ricarte, Puerto Princesa City -- On May 16 to 17,the Inspecting Team from the Armed Forces Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City will visit the Western Command to conduct the regular Annual General Inspection for 2013. The purpose of the AFP-AGI is to assess the operational readiness of all military units nationwide, appraise their adherence to AFP policies and prescribed rules and regulations, and evaluate their overall capability and effectiveness.


The inspection is spearheaded by the AFP's Office of the Technical Inspector General (OTIG), with representatives of the different AFP Directorial Staff as its members. This year’s nspection is based on the scorecards and dashboards of military units and operational control (opcon) units, geared towards attaining the stages of the AFP Integrated Transformation Program.

The AGI will focus on three parts: Resource Management, Learning and Growth, and Process Excellence. There will be a general knowledge examination to selected  military personnel, to assess their knowledge about the programs and policies of the AFP.Soldiers are expected to perform different crisis management scenarios
such as hostage taking, close quarter combat, immediate action drills to defend camps and stations and secure government properties during enemy attack, fire and earthquake, and other activities.
