PUERTO PRINCESA CITY– The Provincial Government of Palawan, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), in collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Western Command (WESCOM) successfully facilitated the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) Awarding of financial assistance to 32 former NPA rebels held on February 05, 2018 at the Provincial Capitol.

Composed of 28 males and four (4) females, the 32 former rebels from communist terrorist New People’s Army (NPA) received financial assistance from CLIP for livelihood assistance, services and support. Each CLIP beneficiary availed a total amount of Sixty Five Thousand Pesos (P 65,000.00), alienated as Php50,000 for livelihood assistance and Php15,000 for immediate assistance.

At the beginning of year 2018, the rise of NPA surrenders in Palawan shows the local government’s earnestness and partnership with WESCOM in attaining peace and order through the implementation of CLIP for their reconciliation and reintegration into the mainstream society. This is also a manifestation of the former rebels' desire and hope for new beginnings and a better future.
