Puerto Princesa City --- 13 former NPA rebels receive financial assistance amounting to Php 65,000 each from the Comprehensive Local Integration Program (CLIP) on 15 September 2017 at the Provincial Capitol that will aide their new beginning in the mainstream society.

The 13 former rebels surrendered and returned to the fold of the law in the first and 2nd quarter of this year. After having processed, they also have become recipients of financial aid under the Local Social Integration Program (LSIP) of the Provincial Government of Palawan amounting to Php 25,000 each.

"The number of rebels surrendering is a good indicator that our peace programs are doing well in the Province," said Major General Galileo Gerard R Kintanar Jr, Commander of Western Command.

"We hope for more surrenderees to come down and rest assured that we will help them in their integration to the society, so they can start their lives anew with their loved ones," Major General Kintanar added.
